Deleting Text
If you want to erase any portion of typed text, follow the below steps:

  • First of all, select the text to be deleted.
  • Now, press the delete key from the keyboard. The selected text gets deleted.

Deleting Whole Word

  • CTRL + DELETE removes a whole word in front of the cursor
  • CTRL + BACKSPACE delete a whole word behind the cursor.

MOVING TEXT (cut and paste)
To move the text from one place to another we use cut and paste options. To move the text, follow the given steps:

  • Select the text to be moved.
  • Click on Home and then click on cut button or press Ctrl + X.
  • Move the cursor to the location where the text has to be moved.
  • Click on Paste button from the ribbon of the home menu or press Ctrl+V. The text cut from the previous location appears in this location.

When you use cut command the selected text actually disappears from your document, but it is not deleted. It is being saved on office Clipboard. When you use Paste command the recent clipboard content will insert at the insertion point.

COPYING TEXT (copy and paste)
If you have to reuse a part of text which has already been typed, you can use copy and paste command in MS Word. To copying the text follow the below steps:

  • Select the text you want to copy.
  • Click copy button from the Ribbon of the Home menu or press Ctrl + C.
  • Move the cursor to the location where you want to place the copied text.
  • Now, click on Paste button from Ribbon of the Home menu or press Ctrl + V.

THE UNDO
With a selection made, typing new characters will replace that selection. If you accidentally touched a key with the whole document selected, you would replace all your text with the character that you pressed! If this happens, or indeed if you do anything in Word and then regret your action at a later stage, you have the option to undo it.

  • Press the UNDO button on the toolbar.
  • Or Press Ctrl + Z

UNDO SEVERAL ACTIONS:

  • Click on the downward arrow that just right of the Undo button. This will drop down a list of the commands issued the current work session (the last six actions are displayed, but Word provides a scroll bar to get to earlier actions).
  • Click the action you wish to undo-you will notice that if you choose the sixth action in the list, Word undoes all commands from the sixth upwards.

THE REDO
The Redo button becomes available after used of Undo command. It is just opposite of the Undo Command.

  • Click the Redo button to redo the most recently undo command.
  • Or Press CTRL + Y

Find and Replace Text
To find a particular word or phrase in a document. When you click on Find option it will display Navigation pane. (Note: Navigation pane already cover in earlier session.)

Advance Find:

  • Click on dropdown button of Find on the Editing Group on the Ribbon, then Click on Advance Find and it will display Find Replace dialog box.
  • Type a word or phrase to search in Find what text box.
  • Click on find next button to start searching.

Replace:

  • Click Replace button on the editing group of the home ribbon, the Find and Replace dialog box will appear select with replace tab.
  • Type the existing word in Find what text box to be search and replace.
  • Type the new word in Replace with text box to place at the replaced position.

Go to:

  • Select the Go to tab in Find and Replace dialog box.
  • Select the option in Go to what list and select the desired number like page number to go to the cursor to those location.
  • Click on Next button to go.
